Mineral Resources Division

We engage in strategic mining to ensure the stable and sustainable development of our smelting operations, as one of our core businesses.
In addition to the two mines operating in Peru in Latin America, we are actively developing mineral resources in Chile and Canada.

Zinc Mine Project
Zinc Mine Project
Project Overview
We leverage the mine development technology learned through Kamioka Mine operation to actively launch resources development projects overseas.
We operate Huanzala Mine and Palka Mine in Peru of South America, where we manufacture zinc, lead, and silver. These 100% Japanese-capital mines have been contributing to Japan’s procurement of resources for over 40 years since Huanzala Mine opened in 1968.
As part of our goal to develop new mines, we are working to find minerals and excavate new ore deposits in Atalya, Peru, and we are also working in joint prospecting projects with Imperial Mining and Itochu Trading for Ruddock Creek in Canada.

Copper Mine Project
Project Overview
The Copper Division, operated by Pan Pacific Copper Co., Ltd., which was established as a joint investment with JX Nippon Mining & Metals Corp. , conducts prospecting and mine development for copper ores.
At the Caserones Copper Deposits in Chile, which has been in operation since 2013, 180,000 tons of copper and 3,000 tons of molybdenum per year are slated to be produced in the first ten years, as part of its operation period of 28 years to help Pan Pacific Copper secure copper minerals.
Starting in 2012, we have also launched prospecting projects in Chile and the Frontera area of Argentina.
