MOF (Metal-Organic Framework) * also known as:
PCP (Porous Coordination Polymer)

DESCRIPTION

MOF/PCP is built from metal ions and organic ligands.
Crystal structure and pore size can be freely controlled by a wide variety of combinations of metal ions and organic ligands.

Characteristics

(E.g., Co2+、Ni2+、Fe2+)

Metal ions

Organic ligands

MOF/PCP

They are selectable in accordance with an application

Ordered structure with high porosity

Crystal structure and pore size are tunable

Uses Example: Adsorption and Separation in Solution

Only Cu ions
are adsorbed!

MOF/PCP is capable of selectively absorbing one substance from a mixture in solution, separating from others.

Advanced Applications

Further applications are being developed as well utilizing notable features of MOF/PCP, such as catalysts and battery materials.
